Design

The uniquely curved phone with its bright red shell is guaranteed to be the cynosure of all eyes as you hold the phone to your ear. Measuring 91 x 48 x 24 mm, and weighing 129 g, the nifty device fits into your palm and life with ease. Above the external display is the camera lens with the camera key on the left side. Right below the camera key is provided an expansion slot for extra memory through TransFlash cards. The headset jack and volume keys to adjust earpiece and tone volumes are housed on the right side of the phone. Standard 5-way navigational and numeric keypads help you navigate your way through the device and type in text.

The A950’s phonebook can store up to 500 phone contacts. Standard Personal Information Management (PIM) applications including an Alarm Clock, Calculator, Calendar, Notepad, Voice Services (Dial and Memo), and World Clock are incorporated into the cell phone.

Built on an all-digital dual-band CDMA (800 / 1900 MHz) network, the Samsung A950 comes with a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated at 3.27 and 200 hours (8.3 days) of talk and standby times respectively. Of course, these are optimum ratings, and actual talk time and standby times is dependant on a host of variables.
