Motorola e815 Motorola, in its bid to recapture its consumer market, has come up with a new Verizon wireless set, which has unique audio and imaging features, and high speed transfer rates. It is digital however, so those accustomed to using analog may feel uncomfortable with the set.

Design

The Motorola e815 is neither large nor very thin and weighs around 126gm. When closed, the time, signal, battery strength and phone status data is displayed on the screen. The 1.3-megapixel lens of the camera has the activation switch located just above the external LCD. There is also a built in flash, which allows clear pictures in low light conditions. When internal memory for storing photos get exhausted, the expansion card slot allows for 128 MB of removable storage. The 2.5 mm jack can be used for hands free access. The charger is plugged to the connector port at the bottom.

The internal LCD is revealed when it is opened, and it can produce a wide range of colors. Text messaging is also made easy with the aid of iTAP predictive text. This set comes with a travel charger, software CD and manual, besides the standard 1030 mah-li ion battery.

Camera

The camera is improvised, over the v710, with sharpness and clarity, even where there is a dearth of light. This allows people to take pictures large enough for prints, besides the advantage of having a camera at hand just about always!

When the camera is switched on, the internal LCD is converted into the viewfinder. It also displays whatever memory is available. This camera has a 4x zoom and brightness levels are adjustable. Five minutes of video can be recorded and even more on a transflash card. The video adjustments have auto repeat, timer, video length, lighting and recording sound.

Screen

The Motorola e815’s screen displays several colors. The external screen is unreadable when it is not lit or away from direct sunlight. The TFT display is the best today, to watch videos. The 2.2-inch LCD has circuit transistors placed on the glass, which makes faster refreshing of the screen possible.
