Carl Henric Svan-berg, President and CEO of Ericsson has stated that the business strategy deployed by Ericsson has to date resulted in more than 100 announced managed services contracts across the world.

Sprint Nextel Corp. on Thursday said third-quarter profits were cut by more than half due to the spinoff of its local phone division, now known as Embarq. Third-quarter net income fell to $247 million, or 8 cents a share, from $516 million, or 23 cents a share, a year earlier.

Nokia announced the launch of its Nokia 6133 available for T-Mobile. This camera phone features a 1.3 megapixel camera with an 8x zoom. It is capable of playing music and supports audio formats such as MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+. 1 GB of storage is possible with an optional MicroSD memory card.

Nokia has a 40 percent increase in quarterly sales of mobile phones in China over the past year, almost twice its average global growth rate, according to CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. The firm's strength in China, the Asia-Pacific region and other emerging markets has helped keep it firmly in place as the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer, but has also been a factor pushing Nokia's average handset prices below those of any of its major competitors.

AT&T Inc.'s third-quarter earnings rose 74 percent to $2.17 billion, above Wall Street estimates, boosted by last year's acquisition of its former corporate parent as well as strong growth and profit margins at Cingular Wireless.
