Vertu, the world's top luxury mobile handset maker Nokia, has seen strong demand this year and is struggling to increase production to keep up, a senior official has said. Vertu targets wealthy customers by producing very costly mobile phones made from platinum, gold and diamonds. "At the moment we cannot meet demand. Sales are more than doubling this year. We hope that pace will continue also next year," Chris Harris, Vertu's marketing director, told Reuters on the sidelines of a news conference. Harris also said Vertu's new mobile phone model would hit the shops next month and was expected to boost sales. |

T-Mobile has launched a new mobile handset featuring the fastest internet download speed for users. The MDA Vario II will use T-Mobile's existing 3G network, or use wireless internet connections when this is not available, to access the internet faster than has previously been possible on a mobile. |

Leading the borough were residents who made their donations at the Verizon Wireless Communications Store on 86th Street on the Upper East Side. |

The new Latham site increases coverage and capacity along Route 7 from Lisha Kill Road to Wade Road, and along Albany Shaker Road from Route 7 to Route 155. The new Saratoga Springs site increases coverage and capacity in the City of Saratoga Springs, around Saratoga Springs State Park, and along Route 9. |

T-Mobile USA is celebrating the grand opening at its FirstPark customer-care facility here after having hired at least 630 employees in the past year. After an initial job fair that attracted hundreds of applicants, the company has continued hiring locals at the rate of around 25 per month, according to FirstPark Chief Operating Officer Leonard Dow. T-Mobile's success helps provide an anchor for the FirstPark facility, Dow said. |

T-Mobile connections have dropped up to 70%, and are set to fall further in August. T-Mobile is unlikely to put money back into the direct market until after Christmas. Dealers are now reluctant to connect T-Mobile following commissions cuts of 25 per cent at the start of the month. Many dealers have removed T-Mobile point-of-sale material from their stores altogether. Dealers are also frustrated because they have been saddled with stock that they cannot return to T-Mobile and cannot profitably shift. They have resorted to running T-Mobile stock down by ?drip-connecting? it. T-Mobile would not be drawn on its future channel strategy. Distributors said T-Mobile has already blown its acquisition budget for the year.
