Today Vocal Laboratories Inc. announced its results of its 13th quarterly SectorPulse study on the quality of customer service among the largest wireless phone companies. During the three months ending Dec. 31, 2006, T-Mobile (Deutche Telekom AG) dropped from an "A" to a "B" in overall caller satisfaction but improved significantly from a "C" to "A" in call completion, a measure of the percent of callers able to complete their business with a single phone call. Verizon Wireless was close behind, also dropping from "A" to "B" in satisfaction, and improving from a "C" to a "B" in call completion. |

An Apple representative was originally scheduled to appear at the meeting, but turned out to be a no-show. |

Today Yahoo announced that Yahoo Go for Mobile 2.0 will be available for Nokia and Samsung mobile phones as well as BlackBerry users. Yahoo's mobile Internet application offers users a search service; the ability to access and manage e-mail; ways to view content such as news, sports, weather, entertainment and finance; access to Yahoo's Local and Maps service that provides users with directory information for businesses and traffic news; and a Flickr device that allows users to access and manage images from their mobile device. |

The world's biggest mobile-phone makers, Nokia Oyj and Motorola Inc., introduced handsets aimed at winning market share in each other's strongholds. Nokia unveiled a slim handset to rival Motorola's half-inch- thick Razr and two other devices with Internet access at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today. Motorola introduced a multimedia phone with a music player and camera to compete with higher-end devices from larger rival Nokia. |

Nokia Corp. is cooperating with a leading provider of Internet-based phone services to enable cell phone users to make wireless calls without using precious minutes. They also announced new models at the International Consumer Electronics Show, which starts Monday in Las Vegas, Nev., and claimed a lead in the market for smart phones with 40 million units sold last year. |

Cingular believes the more than $13 billion dollar network investment it made over the past two years to enhance the quality and coverage of its Allover Network is the cause of all the talk by its customers. The network investment gave customers access to more than 45,000 cell sites, resulting in a substantial reduction in dropped and blocked calls as well as improved voice quality. |

The USA's Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) has renewed its contract with Cingular Wireless that provides state and local agencies in 50 states with the ability to purchase Cingular's voice and data services. The new, four-year agreement is expected to generate nearly US$2 billion in total revenue for the carrier. Cingular currently provides services to more than one million WSCA subscribers in various state, county and city agencies, and in public schools and institutions of higher learning across the country. |

Cingular Wireless is raising the text messaging rate for customers from 10 cents to 15 cents per message sent or received; an increase of 5 cents. The increase comes two months after an identical move by Sprint Nextel Corp., which also raised the rate for pay-as-you-go texting from 10 cents to 15 cents per message. Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile USA each charge 10 cents per message sent or received without a texting plan. |
